Both proofs were re-sculpted by the now retired 12th Chief Engraver of the U. The 2-pc proof set represents the Ultra Cameo High Relief version, first offered by the legendary Augustus Saint-Gaudens. According to the modern coin industry, Saint Gaudens personal choice for the Double Eagle was an actual close-up profile of Liberty wearing an Indian Headdress.
