Yeah this is an awesome coin that we think easily makes MS67 (if not MS67+). Grading standards from the late 80s for coins like this have changed dramatically in the past 40 years, although this coin has all of the hallmarks of an ultra-gem, so we're not really sure why PCGS called it an MS65 in the first place. And some important history: The 1946-D Booker T. Washington half dollar commemorates the legacy of one of America's most influential African American leaders and educators.

This coin is particularly significant as it was the first U. Coin to depict an African American and was part of a broader effort to recognize African American contributions to American society. The Denver Mint struck 1,800,000 of these coins, which were released to help fund the establishment of institutions dedicated to Washington's teachings.
